"He loves his Uncle Bi," Kelsey said. Brian gave Ian a death look. "If you tell Ghost he calls me Bi, I swear to Christ I will fire you."

TAKE ME ON

Take Me On

by Cherrie Lynn

With so many books out there these days, it's not unusual to find yourself reading the same book over, and over, and over…

So imagine my delight when this book is auto-delivered to my Kindle (pre-ordering a new release from Cherrie Lynn comes very high up on my "to do" list, usually right above "Feed Children") and it is NOT your typical romance. I LOVE the fact that there is an age difference between the characters, and not only that, but the woman is older. Simon & Garfunkel sang about "Mrs. Robinson" and Dustin Hoffman did very well in "The Graduate," but it has to be said that this isn't the typical line for romance novels.

And Cherrie did a WONDERFUL job.

The thing I love about Cherrie's books is that the sex doesn't prop up the storyline, it just makes a fantastic story even better. Anyone who's read one of the Ross Siblings books (this is #4) will know that the Ross brothers are HOT! Ghost (one of my all-time favourite characters) is HOT. So when Cherrie introduces us to the newest Dermamania employee, you know he's going to be HOT.

Take Me On focuses on the lesser known elder Ross sister, Gabriella. After being left at the altar she vows to concentrate on her career, and to hell with releationships. But she didn't count on meeting Ian. In typical romance fashion, there are hurdles for the characters to overcome, but what I love about this story is that the stereotypes have been turned on their heads. Okay, so it was slightly annoying to read about a woman in her late-thirties being financially controlled by her parents, but HEY! who am I to judge; I'd love it if my parents still paid for everything! Thankfully this little niggle didn't detract from the great storyline, and I still throughly enjoyed Gabby and Ian's journey.

Not as much as Ghost…but let's face it, nothing can top Ghost.

Like, ever.
