Dead of Night has made me love paranormal again. It has always been one of my favorite genres and was what started my love of reading but I needed something new and unique and refreshing and this book gave me all that plus some.

A snarky, trouble magnet of a witch and a hot, brooding vampire who team up to save the world and try not to start the zombie apocalypse in the meantime. Callie is so awesome. I loved how her character had many sides to her. She is this tough, kick butt witch but also has a vulnerability to her when it comes to her family. There is pain from her past that she has to face but she with her support system of friends, her vampire and her coven, she can face anything.

Lucas is a brooding vampire who has lived longer than most the vampires known to man.  Callie intrigues him from the minute he meets her in the basement of his bar and he can’t seem to get enough of her. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve and see how they figure each other out. They are a formidable team and I am excited for their next adventure.
