Title: Drifting Into Darkness

Author: J.M La Rocca

Release: May 9, 2014

Synopsis

I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, that there was a path we were all supposed to be on and the choices we made led us to those paths.

My path led me to work on the Johnson farm in Texas, where I met Landon, the owner’s son. He worked there during the day and raced cars for fun at night. He was a bad boy with a reputation that exceeded my own. The guy all the girls wanted to change, the one that hooked up with random girls because he didn’t do relationships.

He was exactly the kind of guy I wanted to stay away from, but there was something about him. It wasn’t just his looks, although they didn’t go unnoticed. There were layers I wanted to peel back and reveal. I wanted to know the real Landon Johnson.

All the choices I made led me to him and he would change my life forever.

Review

Drifting Into Darkness is an emotional roller coaster ride that will have you hanging on for dear life. Landon and Sadie have become one of my favorite book couples. They are young but have both been thrust into lives they necessarily didn’t want for themselves.

Sadie is new in town thanks to her family moving from Chicago. She didn’t have to move with them but decided she needed to be there for her mother. She is not one who makes friends easily. She meets Lisa at registration and through Lisa gets a job at the Johnson farm. The Johnson farm is where she meets Landon.

Landon, Landon, Landon. He is my new book boyfriend. A hot farmer who races, restores and drifts cars in his spare time. He has had some things happen to him that no person should have to go through. He deals with it the way he knows how until he meets Sadie. The banter and friendship that happens naturally between Landon and Sadie is awesome.

As I read the book I fell in love with Landon just like Sadie. He is smart, beautiful, strong but also an ass. Landon being an ass makes him more real as you read. You will feel every emotion possible while reading this, at least I did. This book was so well written that the emotions were just coming off the page. This is such a wonderful emotional read.

"I felt like we were two halves of a broken heart mending ourselves together."
