Review

This book has left me with so many mixed emotions. I am frustrated with Gia, in love with El Jefe, and overall my anxiety level is high. These emotions is what makes this book so great though. I was so into the story and the characters and so on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen next.

There were points where I wish El Jefe would just shoot Gia and be done with her. I felt like she was a little naïve girl trying to play dress up in the adult world. For being the Princess of a mob boss and the fiancé/wife of the next in line boss, she sure was clueless about that world. She trusts way too easy and that gets her into a lot of trouble. There was one point where I wanted to throw my Kindle because of her. I did see the she started to mature and come into her own through the book but she still has a lot to learn. All this above does not mean I didn’t like Gia, it just means that the author wrote her so well that she drew these deep feelings for her out of me. Gia definitely discovered some things about herself that were interesting.

El Jefe….my my my!!! He just kept getting better. I got to see a side of him I wasn’t sure existed. He was sweet and caring but still the same a**hole from the first book. It was great to get deeper into his character and find out more information about his background and why he was the way he was.

This book was so well written. I lost myself in the world she created and didn’t want to come back. This book is a little darker than the first and I have a feeling the next one may be even darker. I cannot wait for it to come out!
