This book was a different version of a shifter story. The way the man/beast connection worked is different than a lot of the pnr books I have read. I liked that it was different.
The story did start off a little slow for me but stick with it! It picks up and once the action starts you won’t want to put it down.

Carl Carman is the Maximus of his clan and with that comes a lot of responsibility. What it doesn’t come with is time for an attraction to a human, not just any human but one of the young bear’s legal guardian.

Becca has had a tough time in life but finally she and her nephew are getting into the swing of things and settling down in their reality. That is until her nephew goes missing and the sexy head of his summer camp shows up with secrets.

Like I said, the book was a little slow in the beginning but it was a good read. I like the shifter aspects she included in her story and definitely want to check out more in this series because I know her writing will just keep getting better with each book.
