I have a read a lot of MC books over the years. I like ones that are dark and twisted and ones that are light and fluffy. This one landed in the middle for me but probably more towards the light side. There are definitely some twists and turns and suspense but nothing too heavy.

Katrina is just trying to survive and get through nursing school. She is barely making it but at least she is making it, Until Betsey takes a shine to her and offers the answer to her prayers, a job at the Dragon Runners’ bar. This is exactly what Katrina needed to help her out. What she didn’t bargain for was getting not only a job but a family too. I love how the MC embraced Katrina and treated her like family. Katrina deserved it all. She needed to know what family and love was truly about and she learned that with them.

Mute had a rough life growing up but has found his place as Enforcer for the Dragon Runners. He isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. Mute’s story is a hard one but I love that he is so strong and willing to let those walls eventually crumble. I loved seeing so many sides of him.

I am excited to head back into this world when the next book comes out. The secondary characters were well written and made me want to know more about them and their stories.
