BOOKED EVERY NIGHT
Synopsis
Luke Jackson.
With his thick southern drawl and seductive charm, Luke is the country boy everyone adores. He has his future mapped out, but his plans with Olivia are suddenly derailed when she makes a decision that blindsides him, changing the path they both envisioned.
As Luke struggles to keep everything in check during a difficult time in his life, he must put his trust in the one person who broke it to begin with. The last time they saw each other, Olivia busted his heart wide open, turning him into the man he is today.
When Olivia returns to her roots, just like Luke said she would, he is shocked for more reasons than one. Nine years have passed since they've seen each other, and when their roads collide unexpectedly, Luke can only push his worry and misgivings away for so long.
Things are different now—they are strangers—and the rope that once bound Olivia's heart to South Fork, Georgia is pulling her back in, forcing her to remember how it used to be all those years ago.
Review
“Nothing is set in stone, the course is still unwritten. We make our decisions, no one else. We can ‘what if’ all we want, but things happen for a reason.”
~ Luke
This quote truly sums up this debut novel. Everything happens for a reason. People’s lives are affected not only by their own choices but by the choices of the people that surround them.
Olivia had the love of her life but she also had dreams, dreams that did not involve staying in her small town. She wanted to become something more. She thought the grass was greener on the other side and in some ways it was but in other ways it wasn’t.
Luke loved Olivia with everything he had. When he lost his love, his life took a completely different course. The life he had imagined went to New York and left him in the dust. He became a super star and life went on. Until their paths unexpectedly crossed again.
These characters are easy to like and it was wonderful to follow their second chance at true love.
Life is funny how no matter how you get off course it will eventually lead right where you are meant to be. This story was a wonderful summer read and a good debut. I look forward to reading more from this author.
