This is my first book by this author and I was not disappointed. The storyline flowed well and the characters were well written. It was easy to get lost in the book and forget the world around me.

Bree is reeling from a horrible incident that put her in the hospital and led her back to her hometown. She goes through so many emotions throughout this book. It was such a healing process for her and a big part of that healing is also confronting her past in many ways. She didn’t have a good childhood at home and when she goes home all those feelings are brought back on top of what else she is already dealing with. It was hard to see her so beat down sometimes but then her strength would shine through and it would make me smile. I loved watching her confidence in herself grow.

Liam is a great character. His compassion and protectiveness for Bree was wonderful to see. I can completely understand how he acted the way he did and how kept pushing his own feelings aside for what he thought was the right thing for Bree. In his mind he was putting Bree and her needs first before any of his. I loved that he loved Bree so much even after so many years that he was willing to do that.

This book touches on some subjects that may be hard to read but the way they are written make it worth the read. The author does a great job of showing how someone can come through any situation and come out the other side a stronger person in control of their life. This book was a great read and I look forward to reading more from this author.
